I was moving to this apartment on the top of a mountain with my parents, a baby sister, and a 13 year old brother. There was a crowded village below that we had to push through to get to the very steep road up to the new house. We got there and started unpacking. I was in charge of watching my baby sister. A few weeks after having settled down, my father went out one night and didn't return for days. When he finally did return, he acted very strange. He sat in his chair in the office muttering and writing strange symbols. Then when everyone was asleep and I lay awake next to my sister's crib, I heard my father talking to another man who had a Mexican accent. Then he started coming up the stairs. He came into the room and turned on the light. He had a big knife in his hand and headed straight for my sister. I lept up and grabbed her. He started to chase me around with the knife. I managed to give him a big kick and he stumbled down the stairs. At this point, everyone else was awake. We hurried to the van and sped down the mountain and kept driving for hours until we came to a tiny run down hotel. We got a room and stayed there for a few days to hide from my crazy father. When it seemed he wasn't going to find us there, mother told us to go out and play in the pool. My brother and I took turns pulling my sister around on a floating noodle. When my back was turned and I was staring at the mountain far away in the distance, I heard the baby start to cry. I turned around to find my brother dunking her underwater. “What the hell are you doing?!” I exclaimed. “Drowning her.” He replied coolly. I wrestled with him underwater. My sister started to sink. I kicked my brother in the jaw and dove down to grab her. I ran with her to the hotel room. I told mother that my brother had gone insane too and tried to kill the baby. She gave me the keys to the van and told me to get out of there as fast as I could. I strapped in the baby and took off down the road. The van kept getting slowed down by the thick mud as it began to storm and I could hardly see through the rain. The baby was screaming in the backseat. I then found the highway and went at 100 MPH. I had to keep dogging all these wrecked cars and dead bodies all over the road. When I finally came to an exit, it was an endless circular curve that went on for miles. It ended in a sunny country road. The van was out of gas, so I got out and carried my sister. I walked down the side of the road for hours until I finally came to a little farm house. I knock on the door and nobody answers so I go around back to find a hose to drink out of. My sister is sleeping. I make her a bed in the hay in the horse stables and I too take a nap. I was awoken in the night by something pulling me to my feet and my sister screaming. My parents, brother, and several other people all gathered around us with knifes and big grins. My mother was holding the baby.
“Kill her.” My mother told one of the strange men holding me. Out of no where a loud snarl erupted.
A giant wolf creature sprang into the middle of the people, biting the heads of the men who held me captive. It knocked down my family and took the baby in its mouth. It turned to me and set her down at my feet.
“Get on my back.” It told me. The wolf was bigger than a horse. It knelt down so I could climb up onto it and then it took off out the door. I clung onto tuffs of fur as it sped at an incredible speed.
